ABOUT NICOLAS B. CHIRIBOGA
20 year old Ecuadorian-American photographer Nicolas B. Chiriboga, was born at 11,500 feet in the mountains of Zumbahua, Ecuador. Most of his childhood was spent between there, Quito and Cambridge, Massachusetts. He first picked up a camera in high school and was taught solely in black and white film photography. He prefers to process and print his own work, having been taught by a true purist. As a result of his focus on shooting film, he had only begun his endeavors in the digital world. Nico is an avid spotify user and tries to read. He is also remarkably inactive on social media for a 20 year old, though he has a facebook and instagram account (linked below) which exist solely to promote his work. His upbringing between continents, and the constant need to adapt it demanded, gave him the eye of a thoughtful observer, and a deep self and social awareness.
His body of work is just beginning and constantly evolving. He has several ongoing projects: "Les Homme Folle", an exploration of masculinity, additions to the "Abroad" series of his travels, a self portrait series as well as endeavors into poetry and painting. He invites anyone into his romantic view of the world, hoping they enjoy at least pieces of it.
